Ascorbyl palmitate (AP) is an ester from ascorbic acid and palmitic acid. It is fat-soluble form of vitamic C. It is approved for use as a food additive (E304) in the EU, the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. AP can be easily broken down through the digestive process into two acids which can be absorbed into the bloodstream. AP is also known as vitamin C ester.
